This is a comprehensive BEGINNER’S COURSE on learning to fly fish and includes a session on water.

Your host, Neil Griffiths will guide you through all aspects of fly fishing; selecting the right rod, reel, backing, fly line, setting up your gear, loop to loop connections, tying leaders, selecting flies and the all important casting skills.

On Sunday, the course culminates in a half day’s fishing so that all your new skills can be put into practise. The aspects of using the breeze to your advantage and the skills of fighting a fish on fly are also outlined.

Saturday’s venue: Jones’s Tackle 473 Stafford Road, Stafford.

Sunday’s venue is decided closer to the day and is determined by the weather and what’s biting - a fishing spot within an hour’s drive (generally Bribie Is.)

Bring - your fly rod and reel if you have one (we have outfits for you to borrow if you don’t) a hat and suncream, note pad and lunch

We provide course notes, morning tea on Saturday, personal casting tuition

Cost for the weekend’s tuition is $200
